What happens next?

Following the end of the consultation period, a consultation report will be prepared which summarises the consultation and engagement process, the comments received and the Governing Body and/or the Council's response to these comments.

The Governing Body of Malpas Church in Wales Primary School and Newport City Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Early Years will then consider the views expressed and decide whether to proceed with the proposal. If the decision is taken to proceed, the proposal will be published by way of a statutory notice. The statutory notice period will last for 28 days following the date of publication and enables people to express their views in the form of supporting or objecting to the proposals.

If no objections are received following the publication of the statutory notice, the Governing Body of Malpas Church in Wales Primary School and the Cabinet Member for Education and Early Years will make the final decision as to whether to proceed.

If any objections are received and not subsequently withdrawn during this notice period, the Council’s Cabinet will determine the final decision.
