Carer support

If you look after someone who can't manage at home without help, our community connectors can help you find out about local support services and activities, provide information about voluntary organisations and help you to re-connect with your community.

Friendship groups

The Chatty Café is back! 

On the first Wednesday of the month come along to The Riverfront between 10am and 12pm for a free cuppa and a chat with the community connector team.

Newport 50+ Forum

The Forum provides a voice for the over 50s in Newport and members volunteer to help improve the quality of life for older people by influencing the way services are planned.

Members work with Newport City Council, health, local business and voluntary organisations.

The Forum is a committee of elected members and anyone can join for free.

Public meetings are held in January, April, July and October from 2- 4pm at THE PLACE, Bridge Street towards the end of the month. Look for the dates in Grassroots in the Argus or on our Facebook page (search Newport 50+ Forum).

Everyone is welcome, just turn up, get informed, get involved and share your views!
