Paying for Social Care Services
Once you have been assessed by the council's social services team and identified as eligible for support, you will be contacted by their finance team and asked to complete a financial assessment. This is to determine how much you need to contribute towards the cost of your care.
The Welsh Assembly Government directs all local authorities in Wales on how a person’s contribution towards their care costs is calculated. This is detailed in the Social Services and Wellbeing Act (Wales) 2014.
Charges are based on your ability to pay so the amount each person must pay will be different.
