For a fee, Newport residents can request collection of large household items e.g. unwanted furniture, large electrical goods etc, which are not collected as part of the weekly collections.
Certain items including asbestos waste, plaster products or plasterboard, business waste, central heating oil tanks, gas bottles, car batteries, flammable or pressurised materials, paint tins, soiled or contaminated items cannot be collected.
The minimum charge is £22 for up to three items.
Additional items can be added on request, most at a charge of £6.
The final price is clearly displayed before payment is requested, please note we operate a no return or refund policy.
When you have made your request we will get in touch to confirm the collection day.
Please note that service is for domestic premises only. Business Customers should make a request via a trade waste special collection.

Reusable items?
Wastesavers Community Furniture Shop will collect good quality, usable items for free including beds, sofas, chairs, wardrobes and some crockery.
Raven House Trust welcomes good household furniture, pots, pans and bedding of usable quality for re-distribution to local people in need.
Other local charities may also accept good quality items, try the British Heart Foundation or St David’s Hospice.
