The council's reablement and care service provides long and short-term support to Newport residents to help them to live independently in their own homes.

Reablement

After a stay in hospital, or a fall, or if general health and ability decreases, we can assess care needs and provide short-term care. 

Support is reviewed each week and if longer-term support is deemed necessary another provider will give deliver this for a charge.    

We provide support to encourage independence with washing and dressing, to improve mobility and to assess the person's ability to prepare a meal.

The service is available every day of the year between 7am and 11pm.
