Newport Jobs Fair attracts city businesses

Newport City Council's annual Jobs Fair takes place this year on Wednesday 13 September at Newport Centre.
Organised by the council's Work Based Learning Academy (WBLA), it is run in partnership with Jobcentre Plus.
Hundreds of jobs will be on offer once again from a range of businesses attending the sports and leisure venue in Kingsway. The event will run from 10am to 2pm.
Companies looking for recruits include Celtic Manor, Costain, Monmouthshire Building Society, Pure Gym, and many more.
Last year more than 3000 people visited the Jobs Fair and businesses were delighted with the range and quality of potential candidates.
Councillor Gail Giles, Newport City Council's cabinet member for education and skills, said: "The annual fair is always extremely popular with both businesses who want to recruit new staff and people who want work. It also features training providers who can help people who want to improve their skills or retrain for a new career.
"Whether you want to find your first job or change to a new role, the fair is the perfect place to start looking.
"I would like to thank the WBLA, Jobcentre Plus and Careers Wales who work closely together to make sure the event is successful as well as the businesses and training providers for their contribution to this important event in the city's calendar."
