Message of sympathy to people of Plymouth

Following the shocking and heartbreaking events of last week, we would like to express sympathy on behalf of the council and the city to the people of Plymouth and, particularly, the relatives and friends of the five people who so tragically lost their lives.
As a mark of respect and solidarity, we are flying our flags at half- mast.
Newport City Council's former managing director, Tracey Lee, is the chief executive of Plymouth City Council. Our thoughts are with everyone in Plymouth at this sad time.
