Newport City Council’s dog wardens deal with dog fouling and stray dogs.
How we look after stray dogs
Toxocara canis is a round worm found in dog faeces which may cause stomach upsets and serious eye disorders.
Dog owners who do not clear up after their dogs are issued with a fixed penalty notice of £75 and failure to pay could result in a court appearance with a fine of up to £1000.
