54 public buildings in Newport have free Wi-Fi funded by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

The service is free for the venue and the public for three years.

Newport's Wi-Fi network is called Newport Community Cloud and locations with the service will display the Community Cloud logo.

Free Wi-Fi is also now available in the city centre on a network called Newport City Connect.

About the project

Newport City Council is working with the UK Government on the superfast Britain project to improve the availability and use of superfast and ultrafast broadband in Newport, Monmouthshire, Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen.

Businesses are able to choose a broadband supplier from those that provide a service in this area.
