Three teams deal with children and young people living away from home, including children subject to a legal order via the courts and children subject to Special Guardianship Orders.
The teams also support 16 and 17 year olds who have presented as homeless.

Staff include social workers, support staff and personal advisors who offer a service to those over 18 years of age.
The teams are responsible for ensuring that the needs of children who are looked after are met and that they are being supported in line with the Corporate Parenting Strategy.
They also manage all aspects of child protection for the cases open to them.
Staff are based at the Civic Centre and offer a telephone service during office hours and a face- to-face service at Newport's Information Station on three mornings a week.
