Sports in the Park: outdoor fun activities for families

Posted on Tuesday 21st July 2015

Every Thursday during the summer holidays a team of qualified sports coaches and sports club volunteers will be visiting different parks and outdoor spaces in Newport, as part of Sport in the Park. These visits are being organised by Newport Live, the new trust responsible for public sport and leisure in the city.

Offering a whole host of sports, activities and games for you to have a go at, all ages are welcome from children to grown-ups. The aim of the event is to encourage people to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends, to try different sports, get active, maybe take part in an ‘old school’ sports day, or simply try something new with your children.

At the events there will be sports clubs and national governing bodies such as Golf Wales and Welsh Netball, as well as taster activities such as a golf inflatable, football target shoot out, inflatable netball pitch, pop up tennis, fun bouncy castles, football, basketball, cycling, tots sports sessions, sports day activities and lots more.

Dates and times are as follows, all are on Thursday’s 11am – 4pm

30 July:            Caerleon at NHSOB Rugby Club, Yew Tree Lane, Caerleon NP18 1LL
