Financial support for businesses

Newport City Council has received over 600 emails with applications from businesses requesting support payments. Following successful eligibility checks, we can announce that the first payments have already been made and will continue on a daily basis.
It is estimated that £750,000 of payments will be made by the end of the week.
Councillor Jane Mudd, Leader of the council, said, “We are really pleased that we have been able to provide support to our businesses so quickly. I would like to thank the teams working behind the scenes to make this happen”.
