Measures introduced to address Coronavirus spike in Caerphilly

A range of new measures will come into force on Tuesday (8/9/20) at 6pm to reduce the number of new coronavirus infections. The new restrictions will apply to everyone living within the Caerphilly County Borough Council area:

  • People will only to be able enter or leave the Caerphilly County Borough Council area for essential travel or work;
  • Everyone over 11 will be required to wear face coverings in indoor areas;
  • People will only be able to meet outdoors – meetings with other people indoors and extended households will not be allowed. No overnight stays will be permitted.

Partners from across Gwent are working with Welsh Government to develop information for residents before measures come into place at 6pm tomorrow. We would like to reassure residents that we will update you as soon as we can tomorrow.
