Step back in time at market event

Put on your dancing shoes and join the fun at a 40s-themed tea dance in Newport Market on Thursday 18 May.
The free event is being staged by Newport Council, its property partner Newport Norse and the Alzheimer's Society to raise awareness of dementia.
Participants can enjoy music, dancing and cake from 1.30pm to 3.30pm in the upstairs gallery. Children can attend if they are accompanying an adult.
Newport Market plays host to other events throughout the year including food and craft markets, record and comic fairs and seasonal events.
The gallery is also available for hire. In 2003, the upstairs area was transformed when a 120 metre stained glass window, designed by artist Catrin Jones, was installed.
