St Paul's Walk

St Pauls Walk

St Paul's Walk, opposite the former St Paul's Church in Commercial Street, was created as part of Newport's successful Vibrant and Viable Places (VVP) programme.

To create St Paul's Walk, Newport City Council acquired and demolished vacant properties in Commercial Street that had been unused for many years.

The resulting space was used to create a new pedestrian link between Kingsway and the lower end of Commercial Street, helping to bring people to this part of the city centre and boosting trade.

As well as a walkway, St Paul's Walk is a landscaped public space where events can be staged.

Mosaics project

The council successfully applied for funding for a mosaics project to enhance and attract visitors to St Paul's Walk.
