Shared reading group
Shared reading brings people together to read literature aloud.
Stories, novels, poems and plays are read aloud in groups and then discussed with the aim of reducing social isolation and building stronger communities.
Pioneered by The Reader Organisation, shared reading has been shown to promote better health and well-being, increase social inclusion and remind people of the joys of reading aloud and being read to.
Newport Libraries run an Online Shared Reading Group every Wednesday during term-time from 11am to 12.30pm.
If you are interested in joining the Online Shared Reading Group to share in the delight of listening to reading aloud, please email John Brodrick at firstname.lastname@example.org.
