Visit the Cathedral and Museum in the city centre and further afield try the awe-inspiring Transporter Bridge, historic Tredegar House, fascinating Fourteen Locks canal experience or get to know the Romans in Caerleon.
Newport Wetlands Reserve is a flagship attraction, owned and run by the Countryside Council for Wales, which has something to offer all year round with the seasons and the changing life cycles of the birds, animals and plants.
Hunt out hidden treasures such as the Mediaeval Ship (on open days) and year-round art galleries and craft shops – they’re all here.
The Newport International Sports Village, including The Wales National Velodrome, has been the training ground of Olympians, and future sportsmen and women of 2012 will be practising here too, so come and join in.

The 2010 Ryder Cup
Newport was proud to be host city of the successful 2010 Ryder Cup held at The Celtic Manor Resort, Newport.
