Veolia planning appeal

An appeal has been submitted by Veolia Environmental Services against Newport City Council’s refusal of planning permission for an energy-from-waste facility.

A public inquiry to determine the appeaI will be held in the civic centre. It is anticipated that it will take place in July and last eight days.

Veolia applied to build the facility on land to the south of Queensway, Llanwern.

Anyone who wishes to make comments on the proposal should send their views by 15 January to the Planning Inspectorate, Crown Buildings, Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3NQ or email wales@pins.gsi.gov.uk. Please quote the reference number 2183988.
