We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to be part of a team whose purpose is to prevent and detect Housing and Council Tax Benefit fraud.
You will carry out investigations into benefit claims, making enquiries and gathering evidence. This will include undertaking observations and interviews both in the office and at claimants' homes. You will also prepare and undertake prosecutions, attending Court as appropriate.
You must be able to communicate effective, both verbally and in writing produce reports, make objective decisions and deal with difficult situations.
It will be necessary to work outside normal office hours to suit the needs of particular investigations.
The Professionalism in Security (PINS) qualification or a minimum of 5 years suitable relevant experience is essential.
The successful applicant will be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau standard disclosure.
The post is fixed term for approximately 7 months to cover maternity leave.
