Registered social landlords

Newport City Council are no longer a housing stock holding authority. Ownership of the housing stock was transferred to Newport City Homes in 2009.

Newport City Council holds a housing register in partnership with housing associations.

If you are looking for affordable accommodation in Newport, properties are advertised via Home Options Newport.

To be considered for properties advertised you must be registered for housing and then ‘bid’ for properties.

The home options team can be contacted on 01633 656656 or via [email protected]

Local Housing Market Assessment

The local authority has a statutory duty to produce a Local Housing Market Assessment. The Welsh government recently published updated guidance on producing LHMAs.
