Newport is part of the Western Gateway, a new economic partnership across south Wales and western England.  

The Western Gateway prospectus outlines the vision and key ambitions for the partnership and identifies the following emerging strategic priorities:

  • connectivity
  • innovation 
  • a co-ordinated international approach to trade and investment

Delivering this vision will add more than £56bn to the UK economy by 2030.
