Newport exhibitors confirm attendance at Admiral Newport Food Festival

There will be a distinctively Newport flavour at this year’s Admiral Newport Food Festival (Saturday 3 October) with a number of exhibitor stalls coming from the local area.

More than 70 food and drink exhibitors have confirmed their attendance at the Admiral Newport Food Festival which celebrates its fifth birthday this year.

Making their first appearance at the festival will be the following Newport-based exhibitors:

A lot of Waffle – a new Newport company selling American waffles with sweet and savoury toppings
Big Fish Little Fish –another new Newport business that sells crayfish nachos  
Curry on the Curve – selling healthy Indian cuisine
Noodles in a Box
Pulled Pork People

Two of Newport’s newest restaurants will also be showcasing their dishes, Meat Bar and Grill located on Clytha Park Road and Mojo The Foodbar on Clarence Place who has Andy Beaumont at the helm. He has previously worked at Michelin star restaurant Tyddn Llan and also starred in the BBC series, Great British Menu last year.

Other Newport-based confirmed eateries with stalls are the Café at Ridgeway and Ruperra Arms in Bassaleg.

A number of favourites from the area will also be back at the Admiral Newport Festival  including Avril’s Country Kitchen, Needhams fish mongers based in Newport Indoor Market and for those with a sweet tooth there will be locally produced Welsh cakes from Fresh as a Daisy. All of these businesses have supported the festival since the very first one in 2011.

Another of the city’s success stories, Tiny Rebel Brewing Company, will also be in attendance at the event fresh from winning the Champion Beer of Britain award at this week’s Great British Beer Festival. Food festival lovers will also welcome the news that Gower Cottage Brownies and Meat and Greek Ltd, regulars at the recent Street Food Circus in Cardiff will also be coming along to the Admiral Newport Food Festival.
