Newport Food Festival to celebrate fifth birthday with new sponsor Admiral

The Newport Food Festival will celebrate its fifth birthday this year and has had an early present with the news that Admiral will be the official sponsor of this year’s event.
Known as the Admiral Newport Food Festival, the event on Saturday 3 October will have a distinctively Newport flavour.
Ceri Assiratti, Head of People Services at Admiral, said “We are proud to sponsor the food festival in Newport for 2015. Our staff in Newport are looking forward to the festival and the build up, where they will be able to get involved through competitions, local lunchtime visitors and cookery demonstrations in the office. We are excited to be a part of the growth that is happening in Newport.”
Already more than 70 exhibitors have confirmed they will be attending the event and that number is set to rise as the event nears.
Now in its fifth year the food festival has firmly established itself as a ‘must visit event’ for all food lovers and last year attracted more than 10,000 people.
Speaking about the festival, Newport City Council’s Leader, Councillor Bob Bright, said: “It is hard to believe that Newport’s Food Festival is five years old. In that time it has quickly grown to become an extremely popular event with thousands of people visiting our city to enjoy the wonderful exhibitor stalls, chef master classes and demonstrations.
“2015 is a special year for the city as we see the fruition of our regeneration project Friars Walk unveiled in the autumn and the Admiral Newport Food Festival is an important part of the build up to that opening in November.”
