Residents urged to try one new thing for Get Online Week

Posted on Thursday 13th October 2022

Newport City Council, along with its partners, will be hosting a week of free events giving everyone the chance to find the support they need to improve their digital skills.

Sessions include how to use the digital services at Newport libraries, using assistive technology to support independent living, how to use email, shopping and banking safely online and how to keep you and your children safe online.

Get Online Week is an annual digital inclusion campaign run by charity Good Things Foundation and this year they are encouraging people to Try One Thing - whether that’s learning how to video call friends and family, compare deals online or find a new job.

Whatever your age or background there is something for everyone. It’s never too late to learn new skills.

This year's Get Online Week campaign will take place from 17 - 23 October 2021 with sessions taking place at venues across the city - including Newport Market, Coleg Gwent Nash campus, Bettws library and University of South Wales city campus.
