Election
Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections took place in England and Wales on 2 May 2024.
PCCs make sure that the local police in their area are meeting the needs of the community.
You will be voting for the election of the Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner. Visit the electoral commission website to learn more.
A Police Area Returning Officer (PARO) is responsible for the overall conduct of the election in a particular area. Their roles include:
- liaising with candidate and agents
- collation of the election result following the verification and counting of votes
Caerphilly County Borough Council has been appointed as the lead PARO authority for the Gwent police area.
The PARO aims to publish the:
- Statement of Persons Nominated as soon as possible after 4pm on 5 April 2024
- Notice of Election Agents as soon as possible after 4pm on 5 April 2024
