Fostering team

The fostering team is responsible for the recruitment, training, supervision and support of foster carers.

The fostering team is also involved in completing viability assessments of potential family carers for children during the PLO process and undertakes an assessment of identified family or friends who have had a positive viability assessment.

The team also has a dedicated worker who assesses, monitors and reviews private fostering arrangements. 

Newport’s fostering team is based in the Civic Centre.
