The Welsh Government childcare offer has been available in all areas of Newport since October 2018.
Under the Childcare Offer for Wales, you could claim up to 30 hours of early education and childcare a week, for up to 48 weeks a year. The government-funded scheme aims to lessen the burden of childcare costs
The offer is available for children from the term after their third birthday* until the September following their fourth birthday when they are offered a full-time education place.
The childcare offer is separate to the admission to nursery education application (sometimes called 'early education' or Rising 3).
To receive 30 hours of childcare during term time, you will need to have applied and been approved for the childcare offer and nursery education.
Applicants are able to apply up to 90 days before the start of their eligible term. During the nine weeks of holiday entitlement, the full 30 hours is available under the childcare offer only.
