The Welsh Government childcare offer has been available in all areas of Newport since October 2018.
A maximum 30 hours of combined education and childcare will be offered to eligible working parents of 3 and 4 year olds for up to 48 weeks of the year.
The offer is available for children from the term after their third birthday* until the September following their fourth birthday when they are offered a full-time education place.
The childcare offer is separate to the admission to nursery education application (sometimes called 'early education' or Rising 3).
To receive 30 hours of childcare during term time, you will need to have applied and been approved for the childcare offer and nursery education.
During the nine weeks of holiday entitlement, the full 30 hours is available under the childcare offer only.
*Children turning 3 between 1 January and 31 March will be eligible to begin the Childcare Offer from the Summer term.
Children turning 3 between 1 April and 31 August will be eligible to begin the Childcare Offer from the Autumn term.
