Vehicle licence renewals

If you have an existing vehicle licence you should receive a renewal notification by email at least two weeks before your licence expires.

The renewal notification has a unique reference number to use when you apply to renew your licence online, if you do not receive this please email [email protected].

Your application will be delayed if we do not receive a completed application before the time and date of the vehicle test or if the incorrect payment has been received.

To make sure the vehicle is always licenced it is important that you submit the application in good time and have the vehicle tested before the vehicle licence expires.

Because of Covid restrictions, when the vehicle passes the test you will receive an email with the paper copy of the licence.

This will be followed by the internal plate along with a further copy of the paper licence sent by first-class post within five working days.

You can continue to drive on the original internal plate until your new plate arrives.

We will update this information when our offices reopen.
