Previous Alternative Sites Stage

Newport City Council consulted on the Deposit Local Development Plan (LDP) between April and June 2012.

As part of that process individuals and organisations have submitted sites which they consider should either be allocated in the plan, removed from the plan or amended in some way - these sites are called ‘Alternative Sites’.

The council is required to consult on the Alternative Sites for a six week public consultation period.

Alternative Sites Addendum

An opportunity to respond to the Alternative Sites Register was provided by the council between 7 August and 19 September 2012.

Further analysis of the deposit plan representations has resulted in the identification of sites that were not included within the original Alternative Sites Register.

An Addendum has been created to advertise those sites and will made available for a six weeks consultation period.

It is important to note that the council is not promoting these sites for development or protection but is consulting on the sites in accordance with statutory procedures (pdf).

The Alternative sites Addendum is also available at Newport Libraries and the councilInformation Station.

Factual corrections

For your information only, the council has also identified some minor corrections in relation to a few of the Alternative Sites as previously publicised.

The minor corrections can be found at Chapter 8 of the Alternative Sites Addendum. Please note that these are not part of the consultation but have been included for clarification purposes only.

Comments will not be accepted on the Minor Corrections Document during this consultation period.
