Have Your Say

Covid-19 Impact and Recovery

The Council has been working on a Community Impact Assessment which aims to identify how different people, groups and communities have been affected by the pandemic, based on what communities have told us over the last few months, and the evidence that we have from other sources.

We are now working in partnership with Newport Fairness Commission to run a series of engagement sessions.  These sessions will help us to make sure we have understood the impacts of Covid19 properly and also to prioritise what services and support are needed.  Your input will be used to plan new projects, prioritise activities and services; so we are very keen to hear from as many people as possible.

Engagement sessions (using Zoom) will focus on the following groups which evidence suggests have been most impacted by the pandemic:

    • Black and Minority Ethnic communities (24 August 2020 at 4pm)
    • Disabled people and carers (25 August 2020 at 3pm)
    • Older people and carers (25 August 2020 at 4:30pm)
    • Children and young people - 10-17 year olds (26 August 2020 at 3pm)
    • Young people - 18-25 year olds (26 August 2020 at 4:30pm)
    • LGBTQ+ people (27 August 2020 at 3pm)
    • Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Migrants (27 August 2020 at 4:30pm)
    • Welsh speakers (28 August 2020 at 4pm)

If you want to attend any of these sessions please contact [email protected] who will register you and send the Zoom links.

We look forward to speaking with you.
