Active Travel Integrated Network Map consultation
We consulted on the Newport City Council draft Active Travel Integrated Network Map (INM) between 1 July and 23 September 2017.
The INM is a 15-year plan for improving walking and cycling routes within Newport’s boundary and is a requirement of the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013, which places duties upon local authorities to map, plan for, improve and promote opportunities for active travel.

Draft Active Travel Integrated Network Map
Over 100 walking and cycling route improvements have been identified and the routes have been assessed to make sure any improvements will meet the Welsh Government active travel route standards.
The Integrated Network Map (INM) sets out Newport City Council’s Active Travel proposals for the next 15 years.
The delivery of the routes shown will depend on the availability of Active Travel scheme funding and routes may change as they are developed.
The maps below include routes within Newport's Active Travel Existing Routes Map (ERM), which was approved by the Welsh Government in 2016.
When looking at the routes on the interactive map you may also want to display other layers including schools, doctors, libraries, railway station, parks, leisure centres, Local Development Plan etc.
Responses to the consultation will be reviewed and amendments made to the Active Travel INM where required.
The final Active Travel INM will be submitted to the Welsh Government for approval in November 2017.
