In 2007 Newport City Council published a Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP) outlining how we intended to manage and improve access to Newport's rights of way network over the next ten years.

ROWIP review

Consultation closes 28 September 2018

As the ten year plan comes to an end we have to make a new assessment which includes a review of previous plans.

It is anticipated that all Welsh local authorities will produce new ROWIPs between 2017 and 2019.

In 2007 we assessed the condition of the Public Right of Way network and access to the countryside.

We are now reviewing the Public Right of Way Improvement Plan and will update it based on comments received.
