Properties advertised on Home Options

The information within the below spreadsheet aims to provide you with greater understanding of the empty properties advertised through Home Options. Properties that are available for rent or part purchase are advertised each week on the Home Options Website: Home - Home Options Newport

This list includes all advertised properties between 1st April 2021 – 31st March 2022.  It is to be used as a guide only and cannot guarantee that a property that was let to a household on a particular band last year will be the same this year.  If there were no listed properties in a given area, this means that they were not advertised or available. 

Your chances of bring rehoused, you should apply for properties in a range of areas.

To find specific locations, property types, bedroom sizes, successful bands, and points, you can click on the arrow on the right side of each column. A list will appear. You can select one, or more options from the list across each of the columns at once. Then, you will have created your own individualised search. You can clear the applied filter(s) at any time by clicking on the arrow and selecting ‘(Select All)’. This will return the spreadsheet to its original settings.

Housing waiting list

The council operates a common housing register in partnership with the housing associations within the area. 

The following data provides the number of households registered for housing as at the 31 March of each year since the housing register has been in operation: 

  • 2012 - 2013 = 4655
