A fanzone for the Wales v Belgium Euro 2016 quarter final game on Friday will be hosted by Rodney Parade thanks to a partnership between Newport City Council, Newport Live and the venue.

Councillor Debbie Wilcox, Leader of Newport City Council, said: "I was very keen that we were able to offer a venue in the city for local fans to watch the match after it became clear that was what people wanted.

"I'm delighted we have been able to work with our leisure trust Newport Live and Rodney Parade to make sure this will happen.

"We will all be cheering on Wales on Friday night and I would like to wish the team all the best, including our Newport talent in the squad, Chris Gunter and James Collins.

"They have already done us proud to reach this far - progressing even further would be a fantastic achievement. Come on Wales!"
