Marks and Spencer confirmed for Friars Walk

It has been confirmed that Marks and Spencer is coming to Friars Walk. The much-loved high street brand has agreed a deal for its popular Simply Food concept which will serve as a focal part of the new development alongside 46 new retail and leisure brands, including anchors Debenhams and Next and an eight screen Cineworld multiplex cinema.
The Marks and Spencer deal follows other recently announced brands including Mothercare, JD, Krispy Kreme, Occasions Cards, Pandora and the Candle Company.
On completion in less than two months, the scheme will provide an estimated 1,200 jobs worth around £15 million in salaries a year to the local economy. This is in addition to the jobs created during the construction phase and the potential for local companies to be involved in the supply chain of the centre. The scheme boasts 350 parking spaces and a major new bus station interchange.
