A brighter future for Nala

Posted on Wednesday 18th March 2015

Staff at Newport City Council's kennels have raised money for a charity which paid for a serious operation for a rescued dog.

Nala, a cross bull breed who is almost a year old, was found near the kennels in Stephenson Street with a broken leg which, because of the extent of her injuries, needed to be amputated.

However, she has made a good recovery and is now back at the kennels where she is being well looked after.

Newport charity 4 Paws Rescue are paying for the operation while the Dog's Trust has offered Nala a rescue space and she will stay with them until a permanent home can be found.

Staff at the kennels have been raising funds for 4 Paws Rescue and have so far raised about £100. For more information about 4 Paws Rescue, including how to make a donation, visit www.fourpawsanimalrescue.org.uk
