Green waste collections resume from 2 March

Posted on Wednesday 26th February 2020

Newport City Council will begin collecting green waste from residents in the city from 2 March.

Orange-lidded bins can be used for grass cuttings and prunings from the garden.

Green waste collections are made every fortnight on alternate weeks to the refuse collections.

Newport Wastesavers pick up kerbside recycling every week, usually on the same day as the refuse or green bin collections.

A range of additional items including batteries, books and bicycles (in good condition) can also be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centre.

From the week commencing 2 March, the HWRC in Docks Way will be open until 6pm on Thursdays (last admission 15 minutes before closing time).
