Deadline extended for children's design competition

Budding young artists now have until the end of April to submit their entries for a Newport library competition.
And the rules have been changed to allow parents or carers to take a photograph of the design so they can be safely sent for judging.
The call for youngsters aged between four and 12 to design a new look for children's library cards was launched in February.
Councillor Debbie Harvey, Newport City Council's cabinet member for culture and leisure, said: "Originally children had to submit their designs to their local library but obviously that is not possible at the moment.
"However, we know that many of them are using their creative skills while at home, or in childcare provision, and the competition is a great and fun opportunity to show what they can do."
The winner will receive an art pack and an author visit for their school, after things return to normal, and could see their work appear on children's library cards.
Parents/carers who submit entries are asked to retain the original design. Details of the competition, and terms and conditions can be found, at www.newport.gov.uk/libraries
