Actress Hayley Mills visits Newport Transporter Bridge
Actress Hayley Mills paid a visit to Newport Transporter Bridge earlier this month to revisit the scene featured in the film Tiger Bay.
The Transporter Bridge was used in the film title when it was first shown more than 60 years ago.
Ms Mills was taking part in a programme called Movie Memories: The Making of Tiger Bay. The programme is due to be shown on ITV Wales at 8pm tonight (Wednesday, 15 May).
Producer Carwyn Jones said: “Hayley spoke about the bridge with genuine warmth and affection on camera. She hadn’t been back since she filmed on the gondola (on the Transporter Bridge) 60 years ago and she was thrilled to see the structure up close again.
“We would like to thank Newport City Council for responding so positively with our request to film at the Transporter Bridge.”
