Ageing Well in Wales event

Posted on Friday 15th March 2019

Newport residents are being invited by the Older People's Commissioner for Wales to find out how people can work together to make Wales the best place to grow older.

Ageing Well in Wales: Celebrating Communities will take place on 27 March at Newport Centre between 10am and 3pm.

It is organised in partnership with the All-Wales BAME engagement programme, BAME Cymru Elders, Diverse Cymru, Race Council Cymru and Newport City Council.

People can help to celebrate the fantastic work already happening in Wales and find out how they can work together to make communities more supportive and inclusive.

The day will include a number of speakers including Helena Herklots, the Older People's Commissioner in Wales; Adam Smith, of Rainbow, and Vernesta Cyril OBE, patron of Black History Wales and Newport BAME Cymru Elders Forum member.

There will also be an opportunity for people to say what ageing well means to them.
