Joanna Iwanowicz established her graphic design business Ilove Designs in April 2017 and now employs one person at her workshop on Corporation Road.

Newport City Council assisted her with a grant towards her rent and a large format printer.

Ilove Designs offers design and production of printed materials and clothing, logo and web design, as well as vehicle sign writing, premises signage, laser cutting and engraving.

Joanna was very grateful for the helping hand from the council. "I was able to invest in a brand new machine instead of a second-hand one which has been a massive advantage to production."

She took on her employee through Jobs Growth Wales and is now looking to employ more staff.

Councillor Jane Mudd, the council's cabinet member for regeneration and housing, recently visited Ilove Designs and met Joanna.

"It is wonderful to see creative ventures setting up in the city and I'm pleased that the council was able to help Joanna grow her business. I wish her even more success in the future."
