Jobs fair in Newport city centre in October

Posted on Friday 28th September 2018

Newport City Council is holding a jobs fair on Thursday 11 October between 10am and 2pm in Newport Centre.

Hundreds of jobs will be on offer again at the event which is organised by the council's Work Based Learning Academy in partnership with Jobcentre Plus.

A range of businesses will be looking for new recruits, including Admiral, Allied HealthCare, Amberport Security, JD Sports, HMRC, Q Care and many more in a range of sectors at the event in Kingsway.

Last year more than 1,500 people visited the jobs fair in Newport Centre and the feedback from both businesses and those looking for work was extremely positive.

Councillor Gail Giles, Newport City Council's cabinet member for education and skills, said: "Assisting people into employment is a high priority. This follows an extremely successful similar event in Pill in the summer and our previous annual events in the city centre.

"These events attract a wide range of companies seeking to recruit new staff and also feature training providers who can help people who want to improve their skills or retrain for a new career.

"The fair is a One Newport PSB partnership project and we look forward to further successful collaboration in the future. All are welcome to attend and I wish everyone success in their future employment and training."
