Caerleon Pavilion toilets open to the public

Posted on Friday 6th July 2018

Following discussions between Newport City Council, the National Museums and Arts Galleries of Wales and Cadw, toilets in Caerleon Pavilion in Broadway are now available to the public for the next 12 months.

Arrangements have also been made to allow public access to the toilets in Caerleon Town Hall during its opening hours and when special events are taking place.

The Pavilion is being used as a temporary measure while repairs are ongoing on the National Roman Legion Museum site where the building is having its roof repaired. Staff will be available to allow the public access to the pavilion toilet facilities.

The arrangements at Caerleon Town Hall mean the toilets will be accessible to the public for up to two hours more than previous availability with the on-street toilet block which was closed in March.

This was one of the budget proposals for 2018/19 which was approved by the council in February following public consultations.

Discussions are also ongoing to explore any additional toilet facilities which could be made available in other public and private buildings in Caerleon.

It has been acknowledged that there is a need for an effective signage strategy to advise and guide visitors and that is being done.
