Caerleon Town Hall toilets open to the public

Posted on Tuesday 17th April 2018

Toilets in Caerleon's Town Hall will now be available to the public during its opening hours as well as when special events are taking place.

Arrangements have been made to allow public access to the conveniences from Monday to Friday.

In addition, they will be opened when events are taking place in or through Caerleon including:

  • Newport ABP Marathon on 29 April
  • Folk concert in St Cadoc'c Church on 18 May
  • Museum's Empire Event in the Amphitheatre - on 2 and 3 June
  • Caerleon Arts Festival - 5 to 15 July
  • Tour of Britain - 2 to 9 September which may go through Caerleon (days and route to be confirmed, and not on the website as of today)
  • Remembrance Service - 10 November, St Cadoc's Church
  • Christmas in Caerleon - 8 December

Caerleon Town Hall is a well maintained community facility and the toilets will be managed by a council employee who will ensure they are clean and safe.

The toilets will be accessible to the public for up to two hours more than previous availability with the on-street toilet block which was closed last month. This was one of the budget proposals for 2018/19 which was approved by the council in February following a public consultation.

Discussions have also been taking place about what additional toilet facilities could be made available in other public and private buildings in Caerleon.

It has been acknowledged that there is a need for an effective signage strategy to advise and guide visitors and that is being considered by the appropriate officers.
