Leader's tribute to two former councillors

Councillor Debbie Wilcox, Leader of Newport City Council, said: "I wish to extend my sympathy to the family and friends of both Veronica Brydon and Bill Pursey, two former Newport councillors who have recently died.
"Both were well respected members who worked hard to represent their local communities during their terms of public service.
"Veronica, who was a ward councillor on the then Newport Borough Council, also served as Mayor of Newport in 1988/89, a role she carried out with dignity and dedication.
"Our thoughts are with their families and friends, including former council colleagues, at this sad time."
