Planned major maintenance works on A48 Southern Distribution Road (SDR)

Morgan Vinci Ltd, the managing company for the SDR in Newport, will be carrying out resurfacing/reconstruction works.
The works are programmed to start on Monday 24 July 2017 and last for seven weeks.
However due to the nature of the works, there will be disruption and Morgan Vinci apologises in advance if this is the case.
A full list of closures while the works are carried out can be found on Newport City Council website under roadworks.
There are two elements to the works - resurfacing and reconstruction.
Resurfacing works will be undertaken during the week Monday to Friday starting at 7pm and finishing at 5am under full road closure with local diversions. The road will be open during the day from 5am to 7pm

Church Street Roundabout to Old Town Dock Junction - Tuesday 1 August 19:00 to Wednesday 2 August 05:00.
Corporation Road to Nash Roundabout - Wednesday 2 August 19:00 to Thursday 3 August 05:00. No egress or access will be made available during the works to Spytty Lane apart from emergency vehicles.

Reconstruction work will be undertaken Friday 8pm to Monday 5am, the area of work will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday, again diversions will be in place. The reconstruction area includes the following junctions:
Docks (Alexandra Road) Junction - Friday 28 July 19:00 to Monday 31 July 05:00 - Full road closure, local diversion. Entrance to Dock to be off Westfield Way.
Old Town Dock Junction - Friday 4 August 19:00 to Monday 7 August 05:00 - Full road closure, local diversion.
Corporation Road Junction - Friday 11 August 19:00 to Monday 14 August 05:00 - Full road closure, local diversion.
Balfe Roundabout - Friday 18 August 19:00 to Monday 21 August 05:00 - Full road closure, local diversion.
Beatty Roundabout to Coldra Roundabout (both roundabouts will be available) - Friday 1 September 19:00 to Monday 4 September 05:00- Full road closure, local diversion.
