Budget and spending
Newport City Council’s expenditure, income and budgets are split into the revenue account, covering the day to day running costs of providing services including expenditure on salaries, rates, insurance, telephones, electricity, gas and basic repairs, and the capital account, which includes spending on new facilities like refuse vehicles and major repairs and maintenance.
