Budget and spending
Newport City Council's expenditure, income and budgets are split into the revenue account, which covers the day-to-day running costs of providing services including on salaries, rates, insurance, telephones, electricity, gas and basic repairs, and the capital account which includes spending on new facilities and major repairs and maintenance.
