Gwasanaeth Dydd Sul Dinesig a'r Lluoedd Arfog

Wedi ei bostio ar Thursday 15th June 2017

Bydd gwasanaeth blynyddol Casnewydd i groesawu'r Maer newydd yn cael ei gynnal yn Eglwys Gadeiriol Casnewydd ar Stow Hill ddydd Sul 18 Mehefin.

Daeth y Cynghorydd David Fouweather yn Faer Casnewydd ym mis Mai eleni gan ddilyn y 384 a'i rhagflaenodd, ac yn ystod ei flwyddyn yn y swydd mae'n cael cymorth gan ei wraig Paula, y Faeres newydd.

Bydd y gwasanaeth hefyd yn coffáu Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog.

Ddydd Llun, bydd seremoni bendithio a chodi baner am 10am yn y Ganolfan Ddinesig i ddathlu Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog.

Mae Gwasanaeth Dinesig y Maer yn un o ddigwyddiadau blynyddol mawr y Cyngor ac mae'n gyfle i'r ddinas i groesawu ei Dinesydd Cyntaf diweddaraf.

Deon yr Eglwys Gadeiriol fydd yn arwain y gwasanaeth, ac yn rhan ohono bydd darlleniadau gan Arweinydd Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd, y Cynghorydd Debbie Wilcox, a'r Maer.

Bydd Caplan y Maer, y Canon Michael Evans, hefyd yn bresennol a bydd cerddoriaeth gan Gôr Eglwys Gadeiriol Casnewydd ac Ensemble Pres Ieuenctid Gwent Fwyaf.

Mae croeso i aelodau o'r cyhoedd, ac mae trefnwyr yn argymell eu bod yn cyrraedd Eglwys Gadeiriol Casnewydd erbyn 10.20am. Does dim llawer o leoedd parcio o amgylch yr eglwys, ac mae pobl yn cael eu hannog i barcio rywle arall neu i gerdded os oes modd.

Dylai'r sawl sydd am fynd i'r gwasanaeth gyrraedd yr Eglwys Gadeiriol erbyn 10.30am (mae lleoedd o amgylch yr Eglwys Gadeiriol yn brin a bydden ni'n eich annog i barcio rywle arall neu i gerdded os oes modd).

Bydd Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd yn coffáu Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog â seremoni bendithio a chodi baner y dydd Llun ar ôl hynny - 19 Mehefin am 10am - y tu allan i brif fynedfa'r Ganolfan Ddinesig.

Bydd y Maer ac Arweinydd y Cyngor yn bresennol ac mae croeso i aelodau o'r cyhoedd fynd i'r gwasanaeth hwn hefyd. Y Deon Rigobert Logier, a chaiff Last Post ei chwarae.

24 Mehefin yw Diwrnod y Lluoedd Arfog eleni a chaiff y faner ei chodi tan 26 Mehefin.
