This national awareness week celebrates the contribution made by carers who provide unpaid care for family members across the UK.
Please come and celebrate Carers Week with these free events arranged by Newport City Council and our partners.
Monday 12 June, 10am-2pm: launch of Dewis and the Carers Network at the Belle Vue Park tearooms.Join us for the morning session with coffee and cakes or at lunch-time with a free lunch. There will be speakers, carer information and entertainment.Please get in touch to book a place as spaces are limited.
Tuesday 13 June, 11am-1pm: drop-in sessions at Oasis Community Centre, Underwood with free coffee and cake, just turn up!
Tuesday 13 June, 12pm-2pm: men’s afternoon tea at Tiny Rebel. Come and join us for a men’s afternoon tea with a free meal and soft drink, please contact us to book your place
Wednesday 14 June, 10.30am-1.30pm: pamper day at Gaer Community Centre - join us for a much deserved pamper, we have three beauty therapists on hand, no need to book, just turn up. There will also be a carer drop-in session and free advice from a local firm of solicitors.
Thursday 15 June, 1pm-3pm: drop in session at Graig Community Centre with free coffee and cake, no need to book
Friday 16 June, 10.30am-2.30pm: dance fitness class at the velodrome at Newport International Sports Village (11am-12pm) followed by free coffee and cake at the tennis centre.
All levels of fitness welcome, the most important thing is to have some fun! Please book your place as spaces are limited.
