The Newport International Competition for Young Pianists was founded in 1979 and is a triennial event. Your company can be a big part of this unique classical music event and, at the same time, help to raise the international profile of the City of Newport.

The competition is open to young people below the age of 25 and the auditions attract entries from up to 60 pianists from countries around the world.

The Newport competition is a rare opportunity for young pianists at the outset of their professional careers to compete on a world stage. Past winners have come from Hong Kong, South Korea, England, China, America, Israel and Russia.

The semi-finals and the final of the 2006 competition will be held for the first time at the Riverfront, Newport's award winning new theatre and arts centre.

The competition is organised on a voluntary basis by local people. The continued success of the competition is dependent on the support of local companies.

The Gold Award

For an investment of £500 you will receive

• six complimentary tickets for the final night, including free entry to a drinks reception with canapés prior to the concert
• company logo in the programme for the semi-finals and the final of the competition
• entry to post concert party at a discounted ticket price
